Tri-County offers early childhood education programs that focus on integrating teachers and families. Programs work with families to create a foundation for life-long learning that supports development, good mental and physical health, safety, nutrition, and parenting skills.

Tri-County offers the following early childhood education programs.

Head Start and Early Head Start – Serving families in Johnston, North Providence, Smithfield, North Smithfield, Burrillville, Glocester, Foster, and Scituate. In Washington County, Tri-County provides a Head Start and Early Head Start program for 98 children and families in classroom-based and home-based options who reside in the towns of North Kingstown, South Kingstown, Narragansett, Hopkinton, Richmond, Exeter, Charlestown, Westerly, and Block Island (New Shoreham).

Rhode Island State Pre-Kindergarten – Serving families in North Providence, South Kingstown and Westerly.

Joyful Learning Child Academy – Serving families in Wakefield, South Kingstown, Narragansett and Westerly.

All centers are licensed by the Department of Children, Youth and Families and participate in the Rhode Island Quality Rating and Improvement System, Bright Stars. Four centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
